It was nice to see a few members having a beer and supporting The First Team on Tuesday, you were treated to some very exciting and entertaining Squash. Come on down tonight to support the third's A Park Langley Duel, the 1st and 2nd team were in action Tuesday night both facing Park Langley. The 1st Team had the advantage of a Home fixture and took a close 4-1 win. First on was the youth policy Alex at one against the ever youthful Mr Lennox. The match was a close as it could be with Alex taking the 5th 12-10. On the “other” court Dean took a comfortable 3-1 win over Paul Kay. With TWells 2 -0 up Park Langley staged a fightback (of sorts). The two Dave’s battled it out at 5 with our Dave recovering from Injury he did well to pick up the 3rd game but a tight 4th saw Park Langley’s Dave take the match 3-1. On the “show” court two of the best shot players in the league traded nick’s (no they did!) but some close games and a 3-0 saw Jonny take the match and therefore the tie. The last match saw Jolyen take an the ever improving and Park Langley Youth Policy 15 year old Jack. Jolyen took a 2-0 lead with some powerful squash a close 3rd saw Jack nearly take it but Jolyen won a nice 3-0 although I expect this won’t be the same next time they meet. The 2nd team saw Park Langley’s 2nd make use of their home advantage and suffered their first loss of the season in a close 3-2 defeat. Martin steeping up to number one played well to take a close 3-2 win. Neil was rusty at number two and after another close match lost 3-2. John at 3 had the only one sided match of the tie and showed his experience in a comfortable 3-0 win. Stef went on at number 4 and looked like he was about to win the tie at 2-0 up but had to retire with an injured calf that will mean 3-4 weeks out, a 3-2 loss. That left Captain, new committee member and ever improving Will at 5 to try to take the match for TWells. Will played well but with less ‘Squash Experience’ than his opponent went down 9-5 in the 5th for a 3-2 defeat.
