I write to you all following the ballot we ran on the use of the land at the back of the club house.
As I am sure you appreciate, the ballot was a confidential one, so please forgive the vagaries of this summary but I felt it was important to communicate the results to you all.
There were sixty six responses in total.
60% of the respondents did not want to see any development at the estimated cost of £80k. Half of these gave no reason, but the rest stated that they did not think the proposed facilities would get used and that it was too expensive for what was being provided.
A small number objected to possible increases in subs/costs. However a quarter of those who preferred no development stated their support for providing some changing rooms for juniors, but ideally from existing facilities at the club which would be less expensive.
Of the 40% who wanted the development to occur there was a strong preference for bespoke junior changing rooms and a sauna/steam room facility.
Combining these votes with the ‘No’ voters who did support developing junior facilities results in a majority favouring this option.
We also had seven members step forward offering finance!
The Committee will take on board this feedback and will act in the best interests of the members, reverting to you when appropriate.
Thanks for taking the time to engage.
