Colin Payne, 1962-2016Tunbridge Wells Squash Club will be holding its 4th PSA Open Tournament on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th January 2018.

The tournament has been named in memory of Colin Payne (1962-2016) who brought the first Professional Open Tournament to the Club in 2014. Colin was a leading light in the squash scene for most of his adult life, having won the British over 50s National Squash Championship, and having previously been a professional player on the PSA World Tour. Colin won the Kent Championship 5 times, Kent over 35s Championship 10 times, and represented Kent County on more than 100 occasions, and was a first team player at Tunbridge Wells Squash Club for many years,

This year, Tunbridge Wells Squash Club are offering equal prize money to both the Men and Ladies.

16 world-ranked men will be competing for the Colin Payne Trophy. This year, Richie Fallowes (WR 62), winner these last two years, is hoping to retain his title, but he will be facing some tough opposition from top-seeds Ben Coleman (WR 52) and Joe Lee (WR 59)...

Ben Coleman Ben Coleman surged into the PSA World Tour in 2014 when he picked up his first four titles. With a close 3-2 win over Richie Fallows at the Venise Verte in 2017, Ben is hoping to win in Tunbridge Wells.

Richie Fallowes

World Ranking: 62

Richie Fallows Welcome back Richie, current title holder! Richie has entertained the club as he claimed the title these last years. Currently ranked 62, Richie will be hoping to save his best squash for the final again this year!
Joe Lee

World Ranking: 67
Joe Lee Joe Lee has risen up the PSA World Tour rankings steadily since joining the PSA World Tour in 2006, and secured his first PSA World Tour title in January 2011. With rankings so close amongst the top seeds, Joe will nee to be at his very best to reach the final this year!
Jamie Haycocks

World Ranking:85
Jaymie Haycocks Jaymie Haycocks joined the PSA World Tour in 2006 and would reach his first PSA World Tour final five years later where he lost to Andrew Wagih Shoukry. His first title came at the Paraguay Open in 2013 with his second, at the 4th Cerdil Squash Open, coming a week later.

With equal prize money for the Ladies this year, the competition is bound to be ferocious, with Millie Tomlinson, winner of the last 3 events, hoping to retain her title...

Millie Tomlinson

World Ranking: 26

Millie Tomlinson Welcome back Millie, 3-times former champion and current cup holder! Millie is again enjoying her highest ranking at 26 in the world. Millie joined the tour in 2008 but it was 2014 when he pro career really took off. She caused a storm at the LiveStuff Open in November of that year when she rose from unseeded position to claim the title! Derby-born Tomlinson followed that up with success at the Liberty Bell Open...
Misaki Kobayashi

World Ranking: 40
Misaki Kobayashi Japan's Misaki Kobayashi first joined the Tour in 2005 but would have to wait five years before she could lift her first Tour title. With her most recent PSA World Tour victory in 2016, shehas reached finals on 3 occasions in 2017, and will be hoping to cause an upset in Tunbridge Wells in 2018.
Alison Thompson

World Ranking: 74
Alison Thompson With a most recent 3-1 final round victory at the London Open 2017, Alison is the one to watch in Tunbridge Wells as she will surely want to make a strong start in 2018.
Elise Lazarus

World Ranking:96
Elise Lazarus As one of the youngest PSA World Tour competitors, 17-year old Elise Lazarus is making an impression! Ranked 164 when she competed last year, Elise has risen to 96 in the last year. Watch out for this young bright English star!
